Growth & monetization,
designed end‑to‑end.

I'm a Product Design Lead who designs how products make money. For 10+ years I've owned growth and monetization – paywalls, pricing and checkout – running the full loop from first hypothesis to A/B-tested, shipped experience across large-scale consumer and B2B products.

01Magnet

A 0-to-1 app: personality over looks

A consumer dating app built from concept to launch on one contrarian bet.

Scope End-to-end product, concept to launch  ·  Led a design team  ·  Stepped in as Product Owner

Business task

Mainstream dating is appearance-first and high-pressure. Magnet's bet was the opposite – when people meet through personality, connections start more genuine. The challenge: make “no photos” read as a feature, not a limitation, with an avatar system expressive enough to carry identity.

Solution

  • Product concept & core experience, shaped with the business
  • Cartoon-avatar system replacing photos as the unit of identity
  • End-to-end UX – onboarding, matching, chat & monetization
  • Brand & motion – brand direction and promo graphics for launch

Chat, Match & Play

Magnet replaces profile photos with an expressive cartoon-avatar system and turns matching into a playful daily game. I owned the concept, the avatar identity, onboarding, chat, monetization and the launch brand & motion.

How to play the dating game
The onboarding-to-match flow I designed, step by step.
Step 1
Step 1
Install Magnet and take your best selfie to generate your cartoon avatar and fashion your digital identity.
Step 2
Step 2
Fill in your main details – name, location and who you seek to find – then pick your 3 top interests.
Step 3
Step 3
Answer 4 prompts to portray your personality – the heart of a photo-free profile.
Step 4
Step 4
Start chatting. You get a limited set of matches each day, with options to upgrade.
Step 5
Step 5
At the end of each chat, choose whether to Bump (like) or Pass.
Step 6
Step 6
If you get Bumped back, share photos or keep chatting anonymously – your call.

A B2B platform powerful enough for real campaigns

A 0-to-1 marketing-automation platform for multi-channel lifecycle campaigns.

Scope End-to-end B2B platform & UI system

Business task

Marketing and lifecycle teams needed to re-engage users across many products and channels – without an engineering ticket for every send. Keep real complexity (triggers, multi-channel delivery, A/B testing) approachable for non-technical operators.

Solution

  • Designed from zero – discovery with the teams who use it daily
  • Full workflow – Import → Segment → Template → Campaign → Analyze
  • Visual program editor & campaign builder with A/B testing
  • Analytics dashboards and the platform's own UI design system
The complexity is real – the craft is in making it feel simple for the operators who run campaigns every day.

03Pricing & Paywalls

How a large-scale product converts & monetizes

A continuous experimentation program on a consumer platform's paywalls, pricing and checkout.

Scope Paywalls, pricing, checkout & subscription flows  ·  Led a design team

Business task

Keep improving how the product converts and monetizes – without degrading user trust. Turn fuzzy business hypotheses into concrete, testable paywall and pricing experiences, fast enough to run a continuous A/B program.

Solution

  • Payment-form redesign – rebuilt checkout input fields
  • First-purchase discounts – on first credit & subscription
  • Subscription redesign – per-credit cost & clearer discount badges
  • Apple Pay beyond Safari – enabled for non-Safari users
  • Deletion-flow paywall – a retention offer inside the cancel flow
Note on visual style – designed for a 50+ audience. The look is deliberately conventional, high-contrast and large-target: an accessibility- and familiarity-driven choice for this demographic, not a trend-driven aesthetic. Designing for the user here meant restraint, not styling.
The concrete change · payment-form redesign
The old checkout crammed card details into one tight row. I rebuilt it with labelled full-width fields, a card-network row, clearer validation and an Apple Pay shortcut up top.
Before
Old payment form – cramped single-row card fields
After
Redesigned payment form – labelled fields, card-network row and Apple Pay
Added Apple Pay shortcut up top Labelled full-width fields (was one cramped row) Clearer card-network & security-code guidance
The concrete change · subscription redesign
On the package step I surfaced the per-credit price and made the discount badges work harder – so the value of each pack is obvious at a glance.
Before
Subscription packages before – flat SAVE % badges only
After
Subscription packages after – per-credit price and stronger badges
Added per-credit price (0.33 → 0.20 USD) Stronger “67% off 1st month” badge Added “Best value” anchor on the top pack
